Passing Vigur Island, the second-largest island in Ísafjörður Bay, you will likely see scores of birds. The island has a reputation in Iceland as an ideal location for bird-watching as it is prime territory for puffins, black guillemots, arctic terns, eider ducks and other species. Interestingly, the only human inhabitants on the island are a farmer, his wife and their three children, though Vigur is also home to the only windmill in Iceland and the smallest post office in Europe.
