You are in one of the best places in the world to witness the migration of birds between their winter quarters in Africa and summer breeding grounds in cool Northern Europe. Soaring birds—raptors like eagles, kites and vultures as well as peaceful storks—can be seen catching the thermals that allow them to coast effortlessly over the Strait, while smaller birds keep flapping to stay aloft. Birders, keep your eyes on the skies.
