Want to know what I consider my greatest personal achievement? The toughest, most rewarding thing I've ever done is complete the Big Horn Mountain Run. This race is that special, and the setting is that incredible.
30 spectacularly grueling kilometers through the Bighorn Mountains, over streams and creeks, through the woods, into open meadows, and down through Tongue River Canyon on the heels of glory. Before completing this run, the furthest I had ever gone in my life was 21.1 kilometers – so to say that I took it up a notch would be adequate. I finished in 3 hours and 7 minutes – I slowed down toward the end of the race to cool down with a popsicle – which I hope to best in 2015.
The annual Bighorn Mountain Wild and Scenic Trail Run attracts some of the world's finest athletes with 30km, 50km, 50-mile, and 100-mile races that are as beautiful as they are challenging.
