Big Bend National Park
Big Bend in Bloom
The home of over 1,200 species of plants and 60 different cacti varietals, Big Bend National Park's spectacular landscape is famous for its sweeping views, unique geology, and diversity of species. Bluebonnets in Big Bend bloom and peak earlier than elsewhere in the state, reaching their height from late-February to the middle of March. For other flowers, Bend has two blooming seasons: spring, and late-summer/early fall, which follows the summer monsoon season. Some of the wildflowers and blooming plant types you can spot include yucca, marigolds, and rock nettle.
