Benoa to Darwin
Programmed in partnership with The Royal Geographical Society, this 16-day Explorer’s Collection itinerary
pays tribute to the adventurers of the Spice Route—specifically, those that traveled and traded through Indonesia’s Moluccas chain, known as the Spice Islands for the flavorful bounty grown among them. Depart from soulful Bali
for Komodo, where you’ll spy the Jurassic-era lizard by the same name, and Lamararap, site of the region’s last two traditional whaling villages. Keep an eye out for whale sharks and pygmy seahorses in the sparkling waters of the Triton Bay marine protected area, then enjoy connecting with locals in the mangrove-set village of Agats. Following this whirlwind of sights and flavors, the expedition will land in Darwin, Australia’s topical-outback city on the edges of the Timor Sea.
