I stayed in Sorrento on the Sorrento Coast. They like you to know that it is the Sorrento Coast not the Amalfi Coast which is further south and around the corner. I stayed at the Bellevue Syrene overlooking the water. It was a sweet room. The terrace was not an open terrace but the view was lovely. The room was a the top of the hotel tucked into the roof. But it was roomy and I really liked it.
There is a courtyard where people sit and chat. There is a kitchen and they keep a table filled with food all day long and it is free to the guests along with wine and water. You can grab fresh fruit and water and take it with you as you go exploring. Breakfast is also included as is Happy Hour Wine and lite bites!
In the town of Sorrento there are secret gardens, lemon groves, a museum, great shopping, and fabulous restaurants. My favorite being Il Buco. Order the Lobster Risotto and the Baba au Rhum cake!
You can visit all the towns on the Amalfi Coast as they are an hour's drive starting with Amalfi, then Positano, then Ravello.
