Beitou is an enchanting northern district in Taipei that lures visitors due to its beautiful scenery and famous variety of hot and cold springs. Beitou, to me, seemed magical. It lies in a valley flowing with geothermal rivers. There was a misty, mysterious feel lingering over the place. It has been said that taking a dip in the springs will offer a number of health benefits.
Like so many other areas of Taiwan, it was once primarily inhabited by Taiwanese aborigines. Today Beitou offers visitors more than 30 resorts and has one of the largest concentrations of hot springs and spas in the world.
