When on tour with Go Ahead, even the potty breaks are breathtaking. This is the great Bear Lake, straddling the borders of Idaho and Utah. We reached postcard-perfect Bear Lake by driving through Utah’s stunning Logan Valley, itself one of the Mountain West’s grandest recreational playgrounds. We drove through forests of aspen and cottonwood in full bloom en route to Bear Lake, guessing how many restaurants, shops and boutiques we passed offered raspberry jam, raspberry baskets, and raspberry tours (apparently Bear Lake is a mecca for raspberry production, and each August Bear Lake Raspberry Days, in Garden City, Utah, attracts visitors from all over the world). Personally, I’d prefer to spend my time swimming, fishing, or trekking around this opalescent gem, raspberry harvest in full swing or not.
