Where the historic cobblestone landing meets Tom Lee Park, and the tip of Mud Island joins the Wolf River Harbor and the Mississippi River, you’ll find Beale St Landing. This modern river dock is home of the Mother of all riverboats. Longer than a football field and towering six decks in height, the American Queen is the largest riverboat in the world and a marvel of American engineering. Laced with gingerbread trim, fluted stacks, and a giant red paddlewheel, she is a sight to behold. Her interiors are equally magnificent, resplendent in polished mahogany, rich fabrics, and Tiffany glass. As opulent as she is, you will find an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming and friendly as her proper southern origins require. --From aqsc.com

Celebrating the Blues on Beale Street

Beale Street is the historic home of blues music. In the fall of 2013, readers of USA Today named it the ‘Most Iconic American Street.’ Said to be the most visited attraction in the state of Tennessee, the three-block stretch of Beale beginning at Main Street at the Orpheum Theatre and heading east is lined with bars, clubs, and stores. By day, it’s kid-friendly, with restaurants, street performers, live blues bands, and kitschy shops worth stopping in for a look. By night, the street’s clubs are packed with local bands playing everything from blues to the city’s great soul music and today’s hits. Stop in at the namesake clubs of music icons B.B. King and Jerry Lee Lewis for food, music, and fun. And with FedExForum nearby, Beale’s clubs and restaurants are a great spot for pregame dinners or postgame celebratory drinks.
