Batumi Botanical Garden and Gonio Fortress

ul. Maghnolii, d. 1, Batumi 6010, Georgia

Batumi’s botanical garden offers a fantastic view of the Black Sea coast as well as an assortment of plants from East Asia, North America, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, the Mediterranean and the Transcaucasia humid subtropics. If you have time after smelling the roses, take the short trip to Gonio Fortress. With traces of human settlement that date back to the 7th century B.C.E., this historic military site contains ruins of Roman baths as well as buildings from the Byzantine period.
