While in Tanzania, take a moment to visit the villages... to get to know the people, to understand their culture.
Here, while on a hike around the Bashay Village I met this boy. He was taking care of the animals his family owned and had made a little "house" to hide from the incandescent mid-day sun. He took me in, to show me his covered safe place.
Looking into his eyes, I could not but be thankful for this touching moment... He did not speak English and I did not speak Swahili, but no words were needed. He was a boy, genuine and hopeful. Proud of his house and happy to share it with us... little things in life that mean more than words can describe...
Take a moment, look at the people that make up this country... take it in, you'll never forget.
