Gardens of Marlborough
Plant connoisseurs will enjoy exploring Barewood Garden in Seddon and Upton Oaks, two gardens of national significance in Marlborough. The Upton Oaks gardens (
pictured) were developed in harmony with the style of the 1911 villa on property—a popular feature being the multicolored 17th-century-style knot garden. At romantic and tranquil Barewood, wide verandas drip in white wisteria. Other highlights include a variety of native and imported plants, flowering shrubs, and impressive arrays of roses and irises, among other specimens.
