A Small NYC Museum You've Never Heard Of
Hidden away on the upper west side is the Bard Graduate Center Focus Gallery. I checked out a current exhibit on how, in the early 20th century, the Museum of Natural History shared their ethnographic collections with fashion designers. I spent an hour in the one-room show. It was a fascinating examination of lots of issues: creativity, cultural appropriation, design, even feminism. Other rooms were devoted to the works of British designer William Kent. You have to love the cultural nooks and crannies of NYC.
