Lone on the Plains
The Hommel family will put you to work on their 1500-acre property, where travelers can saddle-up and head out on cattle drives. You’ll help with herd chores, rope cattle, and even brand cowhides. The ranch also has great birding (over 60 species have been spotted on the grounds). At night, look forward to steak dinners and barbecue, then bed down in one of ten wood paneled rooms or five houses, all of which have comfortable beds and a no-frills décor.
