Baoase Luxury Resort
Opened in 2010 by a Dutch couple, Baoase Luxury Resort is an intimate spot with fewer than two-dozen rooms. Despite its size, however, it has all the amenities of a larger property. Privacy and a high level of service are also very important here. A 10-minute drive from the center of Willemstad, the Balinese-style spot feels secluded and tranquil, thanks to the lagoon-like beach and the banyan tree in the lantern-lit garden. During the low season, by reservation only, guests not staying at the resort are welcome with an exclusive beach-day pass. All rooms come with outdoor space overlooking the gardens or pools, but half feature private plunge pools. Want even more privacy? Book the exclusive island in the Spanish Water Bay with its own four-bedroom retreat. Should you not travel by personal yacht, the hotel can help arrange for a motorboat and permit during your stay. The resort’s restaurant is known for beachfront fine dining and a weekly Asian cuisine night, served family-style or according to the chef’s choice. If all that privacy leaves you feeling extra romantic, the restaurant can also set you up with a picnic dinner to enjoy on the beach or under a gazebo.

Baoase Luxury Resort
Stationed on a private beach, this tropical paradise is home to Baoase Culinary Beach Restaurant, known as one of Curaçao's finest eateries. Chefs from Michelin-starred establishments stop by for culinary events throughout the year, and the swanky Balinese-themed menu includes lionfish, lobster, braised veal, and vegetarian risotto. Make a reservation for Sunday nights if you're craving Asian flavors—Baoase brings out a popular small-plate menu of tuna sushi, fried and steamed dim sum, spring rolls, and tempura shrimp. Oh, and you just might catch a marriage proposal while you eat—the website has an entire section dedicated to helping guests pop the question.
