SorryNotSorry, I'm Not Sharing This Amazing Tartare
If I’m on Keefer Street, then it’s a pretty certain bet you’ll find me wandering into this critically acclaimed modern Chinese brasserie to have their exquisite beef tartare. I'll stop in and order this when I’m alone for the very selfish reason that I don’t want to share one bite of this incredible organic, hormone-free beef tenderloin dish made bright and aromatically-spiced with preserved mustard root, ginger and burnt scallion oil. This dish is my sole diner guilty pleasure! But if I’m with friends then bringing them in to graze around Bao Bei’s menu is one of the best ways to cure jaded diners of their ennui. This is a truly modern approach to Chinese food –and there’s a kick-ass bar program offering delicious cocktails and a thoughtful wine and beer selection too.
