To the Manor BornThis 18th-century manor house is located on a peninsula on Laxsjön (Lake Salmon) and was built by a wealthy iron manufacturer. The elegant main building and the smaller annex houses are set in a large park which is designed in the English tradition with more than 240 foreign trees, exotic plants, walkways and bridges. The restaurant specializes in game and fish from the surrounding forests and lakes, and dishes such as a Swedish take on sushi with cured salmon, sesame seeds and horseradish. The peninsula of Baldersnäs has been a nature reserve since 1975, and is also home to an organic farm.
