Bako national park is easily reached by boat - but not in a bad weather or monsoon season when the waves might be dangerous. We went with a guide Robert who lives in Kuching. He is a real jungle ecyclopedia! He knows a lot about plants and animals. And with his help we saw a green snake, wild bees, mushrooms, proboscis monkeys, bearded pig, lots of birds... There are lots of trails around. But be carefull, as it can get really hot and the paths are steep at some places. A good option is staying in the park for a few nights - there are bungalows and a restaurant.
