This inlet near the Gulf of Mexico is a fishing lover’s paradise. Popular with wade fishermen who catch trout fish, grouper, and flounder, among others varieties, the beach has long drawn anglers, but experts say the real premium water sits a short boat journey from shore. If bait and tackle aren't your thing, just drape your feet over the water from the ancient-looking piers which poke into the sea. For a long weekend at the pebble-sanded beach, choose one of the rustic fishing lodges located a few miles away.
