Where the Dive Instructors Go in Cayman: Babylon
To find the top dive sites on an island, one can look to where the dive instructors still explore on their days off, and Babylon is one of those sites. At about 40 feet, a wall begins to drop vertically down into the depths until around 100 feet, where the wall of sponges turns into a cascading display of plate coral and black coral bushes. Here you can spot the occasional eel hiding out in its cove along the wall, and an eagle ray coasting by the coral on its daily swim. For this dive, it’s good to check the weather, as the location on the north shore is known to be more choppy than dives on the West Bay.
