Foret de Cedres, Middle Atlas – Morocco
Home to the rarely spotted Barbary Macaques the Cedar Forest is the largest in Morocco. It’s about a 60 Kilometre drive south of Fez, set amongst the Middle Atlas Mountains the forest has some of the oldest cedar trees in the world.

The landscape is a bit like a scene out of Star Wars, with volcanic plateaus and dusty, untrodden paths as far as you can see. It’s a very different side to Morocco, a far cry from the more widely renowned souks of Marrakech.
