Australian Centre for Contemporary Art
ACCA is not only Melbourne’s leading contemporary art gallery, but it is one of the city’s most recognizable buildings, with its imposing rust-red structure designed by Australian architects Wood Marsh. The not-for-profit space exhibits significant works by local and international artists, including sculpture, video, installations, photography, prints and paintings. It also places an emphasis on not just buying completed works but commissioning art as well, resulting in some challenging and innovative pieces.
