Atlantic City

Atlantic City was the humorously grand name for an American radio surveillance station built on the northwestern shoreline of Lake Nordlaguna, at the foot of the volcano, during World War II. The station was built on the opposite side of the island to the existing meteorological station because its aim was to locate German radio and weather stations on Greenland to the west.
