Athens Street Art
Street art and graffiti seem to be everywhere in the Greek capital. Taking the form of firewall murals; colorful creations on smaller walls, gates, and dumpsters; and even tiny tags by notorious sprayers, much of the newer work makes direct reference to the Greek economic crisis. Though the works are technically illegal, they're rarely removed. Wander the neighborhoods of Exarchia and Metaxourgeio to see high concentrations of often inspiring and surprisingly beautiful images.
