The Palio of Asti, the oldest horse race of Italy, comes alive everyday of the year with this behind the scene tour of one of the "Rioni" (city district). The Palio is much more than a medieval horse race. It is the most important event in town that includes an elegant parade with over 1200 characters in costume. Each Rione, in which the city is divided, is like a bunker and you will be able to step inside some of these secret rooms such as the costume wardrobe, props room and the museum where the old banners won in the past are collected. You'll understand the hard work that involves the entire community of this neighborhood : dressmaking, historical researches, planning, horses and jockeys selection, all to get ready to surprise and be the best ones the next September.
