Asilah is a truly charming fishing port-turned arty resort town a stone's throw south of Tangier. Some of the prettiest medina streets in Morocco are tucked from the Atlantic breeze behind old stone ramparts. There are long sweeping beaches and some great fish restaurants, but wandering the medina is the thing here, where whitewashed buildings are splashed with colourful murals that are produced in the town's annual art festival.
