Like most of the world the English love their football... ok, soccer.
I recently went to see Bristol City, who play in League One (3rd division) in the English league, take on Shrewsbury Town at their home stadium, Ashton Gate.
Of course the majority of the fans prefer the big teams in England like Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but I highly recommend getting to one of the lower league games if you have the chance. The atmosphere is often a lot better because the fans are passionate about their teams because, face it, who else would support a smaller team?
When you go, buy a scarf with the team name on it and join in the chanting and don't forget your greasy burger and cup of tea!
