Tokyo's Fleeting Cherry Blossoms
In Japan, flowering cherry blossoms are called “sakura” and usually peak at the start of April. The blooms only last a week or two so the Japanese will take any opportunity to celebrate them. Trees lining Tokyo's Sumida River are strewn with lanterns and crowds come out to stroll the blushing beauties or picnic under their canopies.
