ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTER, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGOThe drive to the center was peaceful… if you like long winding roads, greenery and the stillness of nature surrounding you then this trip would please you. Don’t be misled though, because especially to the end of the journey as you near the entrance gates to the Asa Wright Nature Center and Lodge, the road is narrow, treacherous and unpaved.
Once at the gates the roads improve drastically, however they remain extremely narrow and winding. The dive past this point until you spot any sight of the Main House is one leaving you full of anticipation and is slightly drawn out.
Are we there yet???
The Jade Vine Terrace or Verandah is one of the first structures you would come across. It is on the left as you wind around the center and continue on along up into the car park area.
Only when you follow the signs down to the reception area do you get an open view to the expansiveness and can get a sense of the natural beauty that sprawls out before you.
For those that love to wander this is the place.
Fifteen minutes have passed since leaving the main house on foot to walk along the drive to the Clear Water Pool…just a couple minutes there and back and I was just in time for the start of the planed 10.30 am Guided Walk.
