History, Treasure & Discovery
The Arabia Steamboat Museum is a maritime historian's dream. The Steamboat Arabia, fully loaded with freight headed for 16 frontier towns, sank in 1856. Entombed deep in river silt where the Missouri River runs today, the steamboat was discovered with its contents remarkably well preserved. See displays of intact artifacts and watch as cargo is cleaned and cataloged by preservationists.
