Antilla Shipwreck
History buffs and expert divers score big at this wreck site just 10 minutes off the coast of Aruba. One of the largest wrecks in the Caribbean, this ship was built as a fighter for Germany during World War II. Today, sponges, anemones, lobster and other crustaceans, and a kaleidoscope of fish inhabit the 400-foot long site, the starboard side of which has become blanketed in coral. Visibility at the ghost ship site is generally 30- to 50 feet, and little current make viewing easy for both snorkelers and divers. It’s best to explore with a guide who can lead you through the labyrinth of the ship’s decks.
