Antigua Guatemala

Art, Culture & Yoga
Our trip began in the enchanting city of Antigua Guatemala. One of most beautiful and well preserved colonial cities in all of Central America. With its 3 majestic volcanoes, luxury boutique hotels, internationally inspired cuisine, art galleries & colorful markets, it was the perfect muse for our art & travel journals! The next leg of our journey took us through the breathtaking beauty of the Guatemalan Highlands to Lake Atitlan & our resting stop lovely Villa Sumaya, an international known yoga retreat. The serene environment, beautifully crafted vegetarian cuisine, spa services, yoga, mediation.. do I need to say more! Ohh... the boating excursions around the lake to the different villages, most only accessible by boat or ancient footpaths that run from village to village. My favorite was San Juan, which hosts an organic coffee plantation, women's weaving cooperatives famous for their use of herbs, flowers & seeds to dye their yarn & weave beautiful bags, scarves, & table ware!
