Climbing thru the path to the heights of Aqasmarka you'll find a wonderful weaving cooperative where a small production of traditional textiles is available for purchase and appreciation. Each piece has a little tag with the name of the artisan who created it attached. It’s a great place to support the effort to keep the weaving culture alive and sustainable.
Further up the mountain, you can grasp the value of the wall of mountains that surrounded the pass and realize the value of the location. Here the Incas built storage units to replenish their troops and population along the Trail. Ruins crisscross the area and llamas graze in the distance.
