Annapolis National Cemetery

History buffs will be fascinated by the Annapolis National Cemetery, one of 14 national cemeteries that were established by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. Although Annapolis was never a battlefield, it was the site of many parole camps, and its port was a departure point for Union troops. In addition to Northern soldiers, including the “U.S. Coloured Troop Regiments,” many hospital nurses and Confederate soldiers found their final resting place here.
