Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort

JI. Abimanyu (Dhyana Pura), Seminyak, Bali

From its beachfront locale to the sweeping terraces and sliding-glass doors, everything about this hotel is aimed at maximizing views of Bali’s most sought-after shoreline. Local stone and wood put an Indonesian twist on the resort’s Thai design, which incorporates a dark-wood color scheme, a mini waterfall, and lattice screens. The hotel offers one-of-a-kind experiences, including special-occasion dinners on the beach and spice-infused cooking tours that introduce guests to regional flavors (don’t miss Spice Spoons, in which you’ll sample exotic fruit and other local ingredients, or the seaside Indonesian cooking class with a master chef). Bustling Seminyak lures travelers to its restaurants, bars, and nightclubs—often early into the morning—but Anantara’s spacious sundecks, refreshing pools, traditional spa suites, and umbrella-shaded beach chairs are waiting to revive you the next day.

Sunset Style

Sunset drinks at MoonLite Kitchen and Bar or S.O.S. (Sunset on Seminyak) at the Anantara in Seminyak are an absolute must at the end of a long day of sightseeing. MoonLite pairs creative cocktails with live DJs, an open-air deck, and sea views, while S.O.S. offers signature drinks and international comfort food, which can be enjoyed while lounging on a beachfront daybed or seated at a table on the shoreline deck.

Waves for days

Unparalleled views from our cliff top perch. Anantara was a perfect spot for family time and wave watching. The renowned Impossibles surf break is for the advanced surfer and at times can be double overhead. We surfed at a slightly more family friendly break-Padang Padang rights (just 10 minutes drive from the hotel). You can also check out Dreamland and Bingin. Best to hire a guide to get to know the breaks and what suits you best. The hotel can arrange.

Spa time in Bali

Aaaah...nothing better than an amazing massage post surfing. Loved this spa, my therapist was extremely well trained and the focus is truly on customization to create a true wellness experience. Part of the spa service included being offered a choice of 5 different calming music playlists, which was pretty nice too.

Teppanyaki in Bali

Fun and interactive dining experience with delicious Japanese cuisine-sushi and sashimi was amazing, as well as everything they delivered via the Teppanyaki grill. Our family dined here a few times it was so good! Loved the chefs that accommodated our every request.

Feast of Gods

Bali is known as the “Island of Gods” and as you travel the island soaking in the luscious green landscapes and picturesque beaches, you will definitely understand why. But hey, even Gods need to eat! At the Anantara Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa you can put your kitchen skills to the test as you prepare a grand feast that includes Nasi Goreng, Grilled River Prawns, Balinese Pepes, Sumatran Beef Rendang and a fluffy dessert called Putu Ayu or “Pretty Lettuce.” When you’re done, savor the meal as you dine on the outdoor balcony high above the ocean and near the clouds...like the Culinary God you are.
