Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas

One of a handful of Anantara properties scattered throughout the Maldives, this quiet resort is set between a swathe of lush jungle and crystalline water and features a mix of elegant beach villas with pools and classic overwater bungalows jutting out into a shallow lagoon. While many of the guests here are couples, it’s also an excellent choice for families and large groups, with a range of two- to four-bedroom villas, the biggest of which can accommodate up to 14 guests. Most of the activities at Anantara revolve around swimming and relaxing—or detoxifying at the luxury spa—but there are plenty of diversions for more active guests, including scuba dives for all levels, parasailing, and sunset fishing. If that doesn’t tire you out at the end of the day, fear not: One of the property’s most unusual features is its Slumber Guru, a staffer dedicated to helping travelers get some shut-eye with custom packages that include everything from in-villa massages to special baths, eye masks, pillow mists, and sleep-promoting beverages.
