Unforgettable Concert in an Ancient Roman Amphitheater
Each summer, the large ancient Roman amphitheater that sits atop Fourviere Hill in Lyon becomes the site of a two-month-long performing arts festival, Les Nuits de Fourviere. There is a different act almost every night, ranging from rock music to puppetry, and given the history of the venue, I cannot imagine a more mind blowing place to see a show. We hiked up the hill during the day to explore the theater complex and ruins, dating from 15 B.C., and then returned the next night by tram for an unforgettable concert under the stars.
