Exploring AmmanJordan's capital is where Jordan's traditional soul and modern city life merge. Head downtown for souk (market) bustle and coffee shops packed full of old men drinking ahwa (Arabic coffee) and smoking shisha. Then skip up the narrow staircases that lead to Jebel Amman for hipster cafes crowded with young Ammanis sipping lattes while they work on their laptops.
The handful of interesting historic sites, museums, and art galleries here make Amman worthy of a day or two of exploring while the city's foodie scene is the best you'll find in the country.
