Amigos Mexican Grill

71 Ardmore St, Wanaka 9305, New Zealand

After a day of tramping up to Rocky Mountain overlooking beautiful Lake Wanaka, we cruised back to town looking for something spicy. Amigos patio was beckoning as we drove by, so we made the stop and glad we did. On a sun-soaked afternoon, with the mountains surrounding us and the breeze drifting off the lake, we settled in for some sustenance. Arriving at taco happy hour made the choices easy - tacos! We grazed through the pork belly, fish, carnitas and roasted cauliflower with a vengeance. With margaritas at the ready and fresh guacamole in a supporting role, it was a wonderful way to while away the wonderful afternoon out on the patio at Amigos Mexican Grill. It may be a long way to go for a taco, but the food is just the beginning of having a great time in this incredible South Island scenery.
