As the end of summer is creeping closer there is still a chance to travel to some of the world’s best seafood festivals. From Georgia to Galway, seafood lovers can experience the World’s Oyster Opening Championship to a heated Crab Soup Cook off, these events capture the essence and taste of the town.

· Island Creek Oyster Festival, Boston - September 19, 2015

Island Creek Oysters is holding it’s first festival in Boston, bringing together over 40 chefs, 40,000 oysters, artists and bands.

· Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival, Ireland – September 24-27, 2015

The oldest oyster festival in the world, the festival commemorates the beginning of the oyster harvest season and is host to the World’s Oyster Opening Championship.

· Helsinki Baltic Herring Festival, Finland – October 4-10, 2015

One of Helsinki’s oldest traditions, fisherman come to shore since the 18th century to sell their herring catch. A panel of herring tasters traditionally gathers at the herring market to taste herring and choose the year’s seasoned fish and herring surprises.

· Clearwater Frenchy’s 31st Annual Stone Crab Festival, Florida – October 23-24, 2015

Visitors to Clearwater can taste the finest Gulf seafood at Frenchy’s Stone Crab Festival celebrating the start of the crab season. This massive community block party features live music, kid’s entertainment and competitions with proceeds benefitting charity.
