American Bald Eagle Foundation Museum

Built as a research and resource center near the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, this foundation is home to a natural history museum and raptor center. Two bald eagles and several birds that have been injured are being rehabilitated here. Educational exhibits include a panoramic diorama representation of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve that features taxidermy animals, including brown bears and a bull moose. The foundation was started by Dave Olerud, a former teacher who also served as the mayor of Haines.
