Wind, wildflowers, and the sea - on the Path of the Gods
Savor the wind in your face, as it whips the wildflowers and the tall grass on the mountainside, high above the town of Praiano. The hike called Sentiero degli Dei, or The God's Pathway, runs from Bomerano via Nocelle down to Positano.
The hike begins from the town of Bomerano and quickly heads out into a typically Italian hillside, lush with olive and grape farms, that cling to the slopes. You can't miss the orange and white stamped markers that guide you along the trail, and there are a number of scenic spots with roughly-hewn wooden benches, to take a water or wine break. Don't forget to carry bread, cheese and wine with you - you are in Italy now.
A few hours later, you descend into Nocelle, which is only a thousand steps above the picture postcard town of Positano. Remember to toast your success with a glass of local limoncello, as you rest your tired feet.
You can start the hike from either Positano or Bomerano - the second option is easier and prettier, since its mostly downhill all the way, with more scenic views. This is an easy,10 km long hike, with some staggeringly gorgeous views of the Amalfi coastline, lapped by the lapis-lazuli of the Mediterranean - I highly recommend it.
