Alter, in the creatively-inspiring neighborhood of Wynwood in Miami, is one of the most innovative eateries in South Florida. At Alter, Chef Bradley Kilgore has added refined and abstract cooking to Miami, with as much creativity as the graffiti-clad walls outside the doors. The locals recommend the tasting menu and the chefs table. Each experience gives diners and up-close look at Kilgore's super cool vision for Alter's menu. Highlights include bone marrow creme brulee, short rib lettuce wraps and the signature dish - the soft egg which is a creamy mixture of cheese and egg with truffles. Many suggest to order the egg with the "bread & beurre," a tender-crumbed miniature loaf of bread with sumac and dill seed. It's served with whipped, butter that is to die for. Kilgore highlights South Florida's fresh, seasonal produce and seafood on the menu as it changes from time to time. While it is more of a fine-dining gastronomic experience, there's no strict dress code and the vibe is trendy.
