Walk through Time along London's South BankStart by admiring the mighty Thames from Tower Bridge before heading down the stone stairs to the riverside walkway. Go ahead and take a selfie with Tower Bridge and the Tower of London as your spectacular backdrop—you know you want to. Continue past the moored HMS Belfast and stare up at the jagged peaks of the Shard before dipping into Borough Market for a takeaway lunch.
When you've sampled everything in the market (as if), wander the cobbles past the ruins of Winchester Palace to the Thames and The Anchor pub, of Samuel Pepys fame. Drink in the view of St. Paul's Cathedral while standing in front of Shakespeare's Globe or from the Tate Modern's top floor cafe. Vibrant Southbank is just ahead, with its eclectic mix of food trucks, under-the-bridge bookshops, and theaters. Stop and enjoy the street performers while the London Eye circles slowly round.
You'd spend hours here if the siren song of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament didn't call to you from across the water. End your walk taking pictures of Big Ben from Westminster Bridge before popping into a nearby pub for a well-deserved pint. Continue on to Whitehall and St. James's Park. Or just stay in the pub. How you end the perfect London walk is up to you...
