A Cheesesteak for the For the Celebrity Chef Acolyte at Alla Spina
At Alla Spina, Philadelphia’s king of Italian cuisine, Mark Vetri, combines two Philadelphia classics in one. His sausage cheesesteak comes on a pretzel roll at this laid-back, funky ‘Italian gastropub’ in the Fairmont neighborhood. Alla Spina translates to “from the tap"—do the name justice by pairing your sandwich with a negroni or an Italian brew, poured fresh from a custom copper draft tower.

Splurge on a fantastic Sunday brunch
An Italian gastro-pub in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, Alla Spina was named for the Italian phrase meaning “from the tap.” The Sunday brunches here are legendary. One Sunday this past June the restaurant even hosted a “bring your doggie to brunch” day with a chef’s special menu for the pooches. Beer lovers will be in heaven, with the large selection of local brews, Italian beers and seasonal craft beers. Brunch is served Sundays from 10-3. Some recommendations from the brunch menu are the doughnut misto, an assortment of miniature hand crafted doughnuts in unique flavors, the beer cheese toast, and the tiramisu french toast. Enjoy!
