Alexandria Farmers' Market

The Pride of Old Town
This farmers' market has a special place for me since it's where I do much of my weekly grocery shopping. The market runs every Saturday (all year round) from 7am (for the early risers) to 12pm (for those sleeping in).

A wide variety of vendors selling everything from fruits and vegetables, eggs, meat, fresh pasta, dairy items, fresh bread, herbs, flowers, arts and crafts and ready-to-eat items congregate in Market Square. They provide not only shopping opportunities but also a wonderful, vibrant social atmosphere. Although Old Town is pet-friendly, pets are not allowed in the market area, but they get to hang out along the sidewalks and make new friends with each other. The market is definitely a worthwhile stop in Old Town and displays the quintessential Alexandria experience.
