Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site
Celebrate the genius of the prolific inventor Alexander Graham Bell with a visit to this historic site. Museum exhibits show how Bell and his colleagues invented the first hydrofoil boat and, most famously, the telephone, and are credited with Canada’s first powered flight. The beautiful 10-hectare (25-acre) grounds overlook Bras d’Or Lake, Baddeck Bay and Bell’s summer home, Beinn Bhreagh, still privately owned by his descendants. The site is conveniently situated at the beginning (and end) of the Cabot Trail.
