Albert Park Lake
Just three kilometers—and an easy tram or taxi ride from the Central Business District—is this peaceful respite from busy city life. Originally a series of swamps and lagoons, Albert Park Lake has been transformed into a magnificent recreational center where locals come to jog or cycle along the lakeside track, play golf or sail on the calm waters. It’s not always this peaceful, however: Every March the road around the lake is turned into a racetrack for the hugely popular Formula 1 Grand Prix.
