This small zoo offers a close-up look at some of Alaska’s most famous wildlife including a pair of polar bears named Ahpun and Lyutyik. You’ll also see musk oxen, a snow leopard, harbor seals, moose, brown and black bears, mountain goats and river otters. Non-Alaskan animals at the zoo include alpaca, Bactrian camels and Tibetan yaks. The zoo is known for housing orphaned and injured animals as well as ones born in captivity. There’s also a variety of nonreleasable birds including bald and golden eagles, falcons, magpies, trumpeter swans and six types of owls.
