Delighted to walk through museums where one can touch and feel the displays, I explored the art, history, and culture of the United Arab Emirates and neighboring Arabian Peninsula. The ancient history of settlements in the UAE’s corner of the desert can be traced back 7,500 years.
The displays encourage visitors to interact with history—it’s a museum where you can touch petroglyphs, weave your way through coffeepots and vases, and enjoy exhibits that replicate how people have lived in the desert.
For only 3 dirham (less than $1 USD), the education you will receive about UAE history and culture far outweighs the cost of admission.
When you are through with the museum, take a casual walk through the date farms at the Al Ain Oasis. On the other side, you will find the Al Ain Palace Museum and another interesting place to explore the conception of the UAE.
